I haven't blogged in over a month because life has been super busy! The end of February Merle and I took a cruise to the eastern Caribbean, came back engaged, I'll finish up with classes in May, hopefully have my state boards completed and be licensed by mid-June! On top of trying to get in as many clients as possible for practice, working 2 part time jobs, thinking about running, writing papers on color correction and being at school 25+ hours a week-we are trying to plan our wedding! Everything has gone pretty smoothly so far:) The proposal was absolutely precious-we decided there was no reason to have an extended engagement so we set a date! August 21, 2010! We are so excited. The dress has yet to be shopped for-I'm not exactly as worried about it as my sweet mother, I think I'm a little more worried about finding a caterer(I'm a bit of a foodie). No matter what-I get to spend the rest of my life with my most favorite person so everything will work out beautifully!
The cruise was fabulous! We drove to Ft. Lauderdale and boarded the Celebrity Solstice on February 28, we stopped in St. Martin, Haiti, BVI and San Juan, they were all so beautiful. It's hard to say were my favorite stop was...probably Tortola, BVI where we met a cute little beach dog, soaked up the sun, read and drank Red Stripe all day:) Merle proposed on the second night of the cruise so that added excitement to the rest of the trip. The most delicious meal I ate was: Sea bass with wilted spinach. Celebrity cruises are geared toward the older crowd(ages 65+) yes, I am being serious! In saying that, the shows were average-not as good as Norwegian cruise line's shows.
I graduate from cosmetology school May 8!!! I can not wait. Like I said, hopefully, if all paper work gets processed in a timely manner I may be licensed around mid-June. I have wanted to be a hairstylist since my sophomore year of college and can hardly believe it's coming true! I am anxious to get into the salon(I'll be working at Safari Adventures in Hair in Florence, Alabama) to start building relationships with people and helping them feel more beautiful every time they visit my chair.
Whew! So much excitement going on right now!
We are so excited for you Meg, We are thankful you have chosen such a wonderful guy to share your life with. We are overjoyed to have Merle as one of the family. The best is yet to come!!
